Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, said the bloc has no appetite to expand its naval mission in the Strait of Hormuz. She emphasized that Europe does not see itself as a party to the conflict and will not broaden military involvement in the region.
Kallas said the EU’s priority is to restore and safeguard vital energy and trade routes rather than escalate its role in the fighting. The bloc will focus on diplomatic and practical measures to reopen supply lines and protect commerce while avoiding direct military entanglement.
