Al Jazeera correspondent Heidi Pett reports that Israel has signalled support for a ceasefire arrangement between the United States and Iran, but has made clear the arrangement does not apply to Lebanon. Despite the diplomatic move, Israeli strikes inside Lebanon have continued.
Residents and local officials say they remain wary, citing repeated violations of previous ceasefires and the continued displacement of civilians. Many communities have already been uprooted, and the recurrence of strikes has deepened mistrust that any new truce will hold.
As military operations persist, humanitarian concerns and the movement of displaced people remain pressing. The limited reach of the ceasefire agreement has left parts of Lebanon exposed to further violence and uncertainty.
