Two Kenyan human rights activists have returned to Kenya after being secretly detained in Uganda for 39 days, and they say they were mistreated while in custody. The men, Bob Njagi and Nick Oyoo, disappeared during an event organized for Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine.
Ugandan authorities, including President Yoweri Museveni, have accused the pair of plotting to train youth to riot. The activists deny those charges and say they were held without public notice during the period of their disappearance.
