How to reach the newsroom with a tip, a correction, a question or a complaint.

We welcome contact from readers. Whether you have a story worth looking into, a correction to raise or a question about something we published, the newsroom can be reached at [email protected].

Story tips

If you know something you think we should be reporting, tell us what happened, when it happened and how you came to know about it. Documents, photographs and recordings are more useful than descriptions of them. We treat every tip as confidential unless you tell us otherwise, and we will not publish your name without asking you first.

We cannot promise to investigate every tip, and we cannot always tell you why we have decided not to pursue one. We do read all of them.

Corrections

If we have published something inaccurate, we want to know quickly. Send the headline or link, the specific passage at issue and, where you can, the evidence that contradicts it. Corrections are handled under our Corrections Policy and are usually resolved within two working days.

Right of reply

If you or your organisation is the subject of a story and you believe your position was not fairly represented, write to us and set out what you would like on the record. We will consider it and, where warranted, update the story or publish your response.

Press and permissions

Requests to republish our work, use our material in teaching, or interview a member of our newsroom should be sent to the same address with "Permissions" in the subject line.

What to expect

Messages are read on working days. We aim to acknowledge correspondence within two working days, though a message that requires reporting to answer may take longer. Unsolicited commercial email and link-building requests are deleted unread.
